Party planner: a painting party in five easy steps
A JM Crafts painting table is one of the easiest party activities there is: every child gets their own pouch, they paint for half an hour, and they take their creation home in place of a party bag. Here's how to plan it.
How many kits do I need?
One kit per child, plus one or two spare for siblings and anyone who turns up unexpectedly. Our ready-made party packs come in 10, 15 or 20 kits. Or mix your own: buy 10 or more of our £5 kits and 10% comes off automatically at checkout.
When should I order?
Every kit is made to order. Most orders are dispatched within 3 working days, and party packs can take up to 5 working days, plus Royal Mail delivery. We recommend ordering at least two weeks before the party. Orders of £40 or more get free delivery.
Setting up the painting table
Cover the table with a wipe-clean cloth or newspaper.
Give each child a paper plate to work on, so it's easy to move their figure to dry.
Put out a few pots of water and plenty of kitchen roll.
Write each child's name on their plate so the figures don't get mixed up.
Timings
Painting: 30 to 45 minutes is about right for most children.
Drying: figures are touch-dry in around 30 minutes, so painting works well before food or games.
Going home: put each figure back in its pouch or a paper bag. It's a party bag they made themselves.
Which pack should I choose?
Mini Bear: our signature bear, a favourite with every age.
Fairy Princess: lovely for princess and fairy parties.
Spaceman: perfect for space and rocket parties.
Under the Sea: half penguins, half turtle and starfish sets.
Mixed: an even mix of all five, so every child can choose.
See all party packs or get in touch if you'd like help planning.
Painting is for children, with an adult nearby. Our figures contain small parts, so keep them away from very young children.
